My Hard Rock Bet pick of the week is the Rams -7.5 on the road against the Falcons. Both John and I hit our picks last week, so let’s keep this rolling.
The Rams are engaged, focused, and playing meaningful football. To me, this feels a lot like Seattle-Carolina. The energy and efficiency of the Rams should overwhelm Atlanta. Sean McVay’s team is operating at a different speed right now, and when the Rams play clean football, they can bury teams that struggle to keep up offensively.
There’s also a coaching subplot worth noting. Raheem Morris spent time in the Rams building. Sean McVay knows what Raheem likes. Raheem probably knows what Sean likes too — but here’s the difference: he doesn’t have the players. Knowledge only goes so far when the talent gap shows up snap after snap.
I think there are points in this game. I think the Rams can score, and I think they can separate. That’s why I’m comfortable laying the number. I’m taking the Rams to cover the spread.
Now, John sees it differently. He’s going the other way and taking Atlanta, and I get the logic. The Falcons have steadied the ship a bit with Kirk Cousins. Bijan Robinson is one of the most talented players in the league. And yes, that hook at +7.5 makes a difference.
Atlanta isn’t a good team — but they’re a good bad team. They’re competitive, they’re at home, and the division is so shaky that, hypothetically, an 8–9 team could still win it. There’s something to be said for that.
Still, I’m sticking with what I trust. Structure over chaos. Efficiency over hope. McVay over uncertainty.
