The second iteration of the expanded College Football Playoff kicks off this weekend and in preparation we thought it would be fun to take a look at some of the most interesting futures that are currently up in the air on Hard Rock Bet Sportsbook. With some bettors backing their convictions early in the spring and summer, to others hammering their preferred teams after the bracket was announced – we’ve picked a ticket to showcase for each team in the field of 12.

Let’s break them down from the first seed to the last.

#1 Indiana: $180 @ +10000 (100 – 1)

The Indiana Hoosiers (13-0) enter the 2025 CFP as the Big Ten Champions and the #1 seed in the tournament. Now, take just a second and **imagine **  if you’d read those words a couple of years ago. It’s a new era of college football and fortunes can change quickly.

The Hoosiers made the field of 12 last year but lost to Notre Dame 27-17 in South Bend. However, despite a transformational campaign last year, sportsbooks weren’t necessarily forecasting a repeat…  and some bettors saw opportunity. One Hard Rock Bet player in particular placed a $180 wager on Indiana to win it all at +10000 (100-1) back on August 15th. Now? Indiana is the second-favorite to win it all at +325 – talk about CLV.

If they do capture the National Championship the ticket will pay $18,180.

#2 Ohio State: $20,000 @ +275 (2.75 – 1)

Ohio State (12-1) are the defending champions and as such, have been among the betting favorites for the CFP all year. Notably, a bettor dropped a $20,000 wager on the Buckeyes at +275 on October 19th, a day after the team dominated Wisconsin 34-0 at Camp Randall.

OSU is the current favorite to win the College Football Playoff at +195. A repeat championship would bring this bettor a $75K win.

#3 Georgia: $10,909.10 @ +550 (5.5 – 1)

A few days after the College Football Playoff field was set we took a big bet on the current SEC Champion, the Georgia Bulldogs (12-1), at +550.

The $10,909.10 wager will come with a $70,909.15 pay day should the Bulldogs bring the title back to Athens.

#4 Texas Tech: $300 @ +15000 (150 – 1)

Texas Tech (12-1) will make its first College Football Playoff appearance as the #4 seed in 2025, awaiting the winner of Oregon and JMU. One bettor placed a $300 wager on Hard Rock Bet Sportsbook on May 24th, well before the season started, on Texas Tech to win it all. The price at the time? 150-1. Now? With a bye already secured, the Red Raiders are +850.

If Texas Tech wins the championship our bettor will pocket $45,300.

#5 Oregon: $1,000 @ +1000 (10 – 1)

The Oregon Ducks (11-1) started the season in the Top 10 and have been one of the highest ranked teams in the country for the duration. The lone blemish on their record? A 30-20 loss against #1 Indiana. As such, their odds of a national title haven’t changed a lot as the season progressed.

A bettor on Hard Rock Bet Sportsbook placed a $1,000 bet on the Ducks at +1000 just after midnight on December 7th. Later that day the Ducks were announced as the #5 seed and paired against #12 JMU. In the time since the bracket was announced the Ducks have dropped to +750. If they win the title? The bettor walks with $11K.

#6 Ole Miss: $1,000 @ +3000 (30 – 1)

Ole Miss (11-1) were as high as +4000 (40-1) early in the season, but secured the #6 seed in the 2025 CFP after a stellar 1-loss season. That one loss was a 43-35 shootout against the eventual SEC Champ, Georgia, lending more credibility to the strength of the squad.

Despite the coaching turnover with Head Coach Lane Kiffin bolting for LSU, a bettor placed a $1,000 bet on Ole Miss at +3000 (30-1) on December 2nd. An Ole Miss national championship would bring a $31,000 windfall.

#7 Texas A&M: $325 @ +3000 (30 – 1)

Texas A&M (11-1) kicked off their season ranked 21st in the Coaches Poll, but a stellar 11-0 start vaulted them into the championship picture before losing at the hands of one of their biggest rivals, the Texas Longhorns. A bettor at Hard Rock Bet, though, was on them from the start. A $325 ticket on the Aggies to win it all was placed on April 17th at +3000.

If the Aggies lift the trophy they will pocket a $10,075 win after a 9-month sweat.

#8 Oklahoma: $2,500 @ +6000 (60 – 1)

There’s some serious money on the line with this one. One bettor plunked down $2,500 on the Oklahoma Sooners (10-2) on December 3, a few days after they wrapped their regular season with a win over LSU and days before the bracket was announced. The bet was locked in at +6000… sixty to one. Currently the Sooners can be bet at +5000 (50-1).

Should the Sooners claim another championship this ticket will pay out $152,500.

#9 Alabama: $600 @ +2500 (25 – 1)

The Alabama Crimson Tide are no strangers to the CFP, but they enter the 2025 tournament as the only three-loss team. However, there’s still action backing Alabama to discover championship form.

One Bama bettor put a $600 wager on the team last week on December 12th at +2500 and is now sweating a $15.6K win.

#10 Miami: $2,500 @ +15000 (150 – 1)

As the sole home to sports betting in Florida, Hard Rock Bet has its fair share of Miami Hurricanes (10-2) believers. When the regular season wrapped up and the Hurricanes seemed to be on the outside looking in for the CFP, their title odds were long… and this opportunistic bettor pounced. A $2,500 ticket was placed on November 30th with a lot of belief. Belief that Miami was talented enough to beat anyone, and belief that the committee would ultimately see the value in their head-to-head win over Notre Dame and stick them in the field.

Well, they’re in… and if they win the title this bet will pay a staggering $377,500.

#11 Tulane: $100 @ +100000 (1,000 – 1)

Now we’re getting to the real underdogs. Tulane (11-2) earned their place in the CFP after winning the American Conference. Their reward? A chance to avenge an early season 45-10 loss at the hands of Ole Miss in the first round of the tournament. Should Tulane do the unthinkable and run the table, the bettor who placed a $100 bet on the team on December 13th at +100000 will be very happy.

This 1000 – 1 ticket would yield a six-figure payout of $100.1K if the Green Wave win the CFP.

#12 James Madison: $100 @ +100000 (1,000 – 1)

Last, but certainly not least… the #12 seed James Madison Dukes. 12-1. Sun Belt Champions. Winners of 11 straight. My alma matter.

It took a fortuitous set of results on championship weekend for the Dukes to make the field, but they’re in. Chip and a chair, as they say.

Remarkably, a $100 wager was placed on JMU to win the national championship back on August 23rd. The odds at the time? +100000. Now? The Dukes are still +100000. Never the less, this ticket is just four wins away from a $100,100 score.
