The 2026 Big East Men’s Basketball Tournament tips off this evening at Madison Square Garden in New York City, where 11 teams will battle it out over four days with a conference title and automatic NCAA Tournament bid on the line.

It was somewhat of a down year for one of college basketball‘s most prestigious leagues, as only three programs (St. John’s, UConn and Villanova) finished with a conference record above .500. Schools like Creighton, Marquette and Providence, which are typically in strong form come March, are looking to move past lost seasons – but if the Big East Tournament has shown us anything over the years, it’s that anyone can win it as soon as the first game tips off.

2026 Big East Tournament Odds

UConn (+100) heads to The Mecca as the tournament favorite despite finishing second in the standings to St. John’s during the regular season. Dan Hurley’s squad will look to secure his second career Big East Tournament title and first since 2024, when the Huskies went on to win their second consecutive national championship.

St. John’s (+125) ended up as the league’s No. 1 seed after cruising through the Big East and posting an 18-2 mark in conference play. After somewhat of a slow start in non-conference play that saw the Red Storm sitting at 4-3 overall, the Johnnies went on to win 21 of their final 24 games to lock up Rick Pitino’s second Big East regular season title in as many seasons.

Villanova (+800) enjoyed a strong debut season for new head coach Kevin Willard, with the Wildcats finishing 24-7 overall and 15-5 in conference play. Villanova is in search of its first Big East Tournament title since 2022, the program’s final season with Jay Wright at the helm and the last time it qualified for the NCAA Tournament.

Seton Hall (+1750) is the only other Big East team that finished with a conference record at or above .500 at 10-10. The Pirates are currently on the outside looking in as far as the NCAA Tournament is concerned, so they’re going to need a strong showing in NYC to have any chance at securing an at-large bid come Selection Sunday.

The rest of the Big East is considered somewhat of a long-shot to win, with every other team listed at 30-1 or higher. Below is the full field, seeding and odds to win the 2026 Big East Tournament at Hard Rock Bet:
